美國錢幣之王1804年1元銀幣《King of Coins 1804 Silver Dollar》及1822年5元金幣《An 1822 Half Eagle five-dollar gold piece》將拍賣 成交價或各達千萬美元

一、 美國知名錢幣拍賣公司SBG與全球知名藝術品拍賣品牌蘇富比(Sotheby's)將於2015年5月19－20日在紐約進行世界錢幣拍賣專場(Rarities Night Auction)。由美國地產商波格父子(D.Brent Pogue)多年來收藏的超過650枚罕見美國錢幣，將於5月19日起進行拍賣，據預計總成交額將會突破2億美元。這批錢幣在美國立國早期的1792年至1830年代發行，包括一枚被稱為美國錢幣之王(The King of American Coins)的1804年銀幣PCGS PR68，估計將拍得800萬至1000萬美元。另一枚1822年的5美元金幣PCGS AU50亦屬焦點，估計世上僅存3枚，成交價預估也在800萬至1000萬美元之間。拍賣行稱，這些錢幣將在7次系列拍賣中先後現身，預計將持續至2017年5月。 

 

二、 這批錢幣是在美國立國早期的1790年至1830年代發行的銅、銀、金幣。在1800年代早期，鑄幣用的硬模都是人手打造，各有細微差異，用這些硬模鑄出的金銀幣，在收藏家眼中尤其珍貴。1804 一級銀幣 實際上，1804銀幣並不是流通幣，是屬於國禮。   實際上這款1804銀幣在1834年後才得以真正發行。那時，它僅僅作爲混票用於使者往來之禮，因爲亞洲統治者對銀幣興致勃勃。當時美國第7任總統，傑克遜要求製作精美的套幣來送給亞洲國家的領導人，於是就有了1804幣的誕生，根據資料記載，其中一枚送給了泰國王，一枚送給了阿曼國王，其餘的送給了其他亞洲國家領導人，但是後來慢慢流通到了市場。

 

三、1804年製造的這種銀幣每枚拍賣價高達99萬美元，1995年拍賣價攀升至125萬美元，位列當時世界錢幣拍賣會上錢幣價格之冠。而在1999年有一枚更是以高達414萬美元(2500萬人民幣)的價格轉手，拍賣價令當時的收藏界嘆爲觀止。它之所以以遠超其他十四枚的驚人價格成交，是因爲據說它不僅僅是一枚單純收藏品，更是一段纏綿悱惻的愛情的信物。美國1804年1美元罕見銀幣於2013年0812日以3877500美元高價拍出《存世量8枚，數目與英文資料15枚不同？》 

 

四、  P.S.：King of Coins 1804 Silver Dollar

 

1、  Known by collectors as The King of American Coins, an 1804-dated U.S. silver dollar specially made on behalf of President Andrew Jackson, and still in mint condition, sold for $3,877,500 at Heritage Auctions on Friday, Aug. 9,2013, exceeding the pre-sale estimate of $3+ million. It was part of the company's $28+ million Platinum Night and U.S. Coins auction in Chicago.

2、  The rarest and most important Bust dollar (which as a series, were dated from 1795 through 1804) is the 1804 dollar. In fact, the 1804 Bust silver dollar is perhaps the most famous of all rare coins.Not a surprise, as the 1804 Bust silver dollar is often dubbed "The King of American Coins."The 1804 dollar was a dollar coin struck by the Mint of the United States, of which fifteen specimens are currently known to exist. Though dated 1804, none were struck in that year; all were minted in the 1830s or later. They were first created for use in special proof coin sets used as diplomatic gifts during Edmund Roberts's trips to Siam and Muscat. Some silver dollars were struck in 1804, though all were dated 1803. In 1806, production was suspended by order of James Madison, then Secretary of State, and the denomination was not struck again until the 1804-dated pieces were minted.

 

3、  These 15 1804 Bust silver dollars have been divided into 3 classes (Class I, Class II, and Class III). The classes are based on the certain design and striking variations and also are classified based on whether the coins are original or restrikes.8 belong to a class of original specimens: Class I.

       The King of Siam and Sultan of Muscat 1804 silver dollars belong in this class.1 belongs to Class II, a restrike piece made from a Swiss silver coin called a "Thaler."

      6 belong to Class III. They are also restrikes.

2、 Valuable Gold Half Eagle Coins：The Half Eagle was the first American coin to be struck in gold. The 1822 Half Eagle is the rarest and most valuable of all U.S. coins as well. The history of the nation's coinage up to 1933 is encapsulated in these pieces, which make a fine centerpiece for any collection and are likely to steadily appreciate in value over time. This coin exceeds all other American currency in rarity, with only three examples known. All are currently in collections, but since over 17,000 of these Half Eagles were minted, it is possible that a handful more survive. The 1822 Half Eagle sold for astronomical sums when first brought to the public's attention, and would likely be worth more now, as much as $5 to $10 million. Half Eagles struck before 1834 are all expensive, however, with mint specimens worth $80,000 to $200,000, and sometimes more. A rare five-dollar gold piece and a prized silver dollar each could fetch $10 million or more in upcoming auctions.
